Opening of Bina

We went to the opening party of the new restaurant BINA it is a osteria and a alimentari ( food shop) on Washington Street and Avery street.

They had oysters and cheeses and prosciutto and great bread and they were passing out glasses of prosecco and wine etc. It was a downtown Boston crowd. I have been spending way too much time in JP so it was fun to see a different set of people.

The highlight food wise was the freshly made on the premises right in front of us Mozzarella cheese from Fiore Di Nonno a cheese factory in Somerville MA.

I have never tasted Mozzarella that fresh before and YUM

We saw a few people we know and talked to a young couple over the oysters. He was trying to get her to try one and she gamely slurped one down. She confessed she did not like it that much. I chimed in that Carol lived on the Oyster River and had developed the taste for Oysters.

The young woman said that in her country, oysters were illegal. Iran. Her partner said he liked oysters. She also said that he was Jewish and they are not allowed to eat oysters either. Anyway they lived together and she said she could eat shrimp but not oysters.

So then the conversation turned to how similar the religions were. I said yes same god but then later on they all got mixed up.

So this was a perfect evening great food a little philosphical talk about religion.

The place was packed. I hope they make it businesswise.
